Leadership Initiatives

During my time in this internship, both in-person and online, I worked to hep two key individuals, Ikilimat Abdulazeez and Idris Sani, both people from Bauchi State, Nigeria who were beginning restaurant and vulcanizing businesses respectively.

While working in-person, I was able to lead a team of four other high school students alongside myself to fully create the brand launch for Ikilimat Abdulazeez and her restaurant business while directly conversing with her online. Through this opportunity, I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the unique experiences of business owners living in Nigeria and what unique priorities they possess compared to those living in the states, and how I could do my best to support her through my brand launch including a logo, sign, advertising material, flyers, business cards, and a restaurant location.

While working online, I formed and led a team of two other high school students alongside myself to help a young entrepreneur Idris Sani accelerate the development of his vulcanizing business by creating an entire brand identity including scheming a logo and sign, developing a financial tracking sheet to help Mr. Idris better manage his finances, as well as creating and presenting a microgrant proposal to help provide more materials and necessities for Mr. Idris and his business.
